• NEW PATIENTS

From the time you step into our office, you will experience the courtesy and professionalism for which Merrifield Family Dentistry is known for. We value your time so we make every effort to make sure you are seen promptly with minimal waiting.

    BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT

When calling the office to schedule your initial visit, you will be greeted by one of our patient coordinators who will assist you with scheduling and assure you have located all forms and directions. If you have insurance, we will collect your information right away so that it is verified and ready for you when you arrive for your appointment.

  • WHAT TO EXPECT

We will spend time looking over your current condition. The exam will consist of:

    • extra-oral soft tissue exam to screen for cancer
    • review of the function of your jaw joints
    • review of the current health of the gum tissue and bone
    • review of the teeth for fractures, cavities, and other issues that may affect your well-being

If any irregularities are found, a treatment plan will be made. Our office utilizes an intra-oral camera to show patients problem areas.

After it is determined that you do not have active gum disease, our hygienists will scale tartar from areas above the gum line and from between teeth. These deposits contribute to gum disease and removal is essential in preventing gingivitis. Next, the teeth are polished, flossed, and oral hygiene instructions are shared with the patient. Many of our patients are surprised at how helpful our staff’s instruction on brushing and flossing can be for patients of all ages.

    FINANCIAL

Our fees are fair and reasonable. We strive to keep them that way. You assist that effort when you pay for our services at the end of each visit. Our Patient Coordinators will inform you of the approximate estimated fee for treatment prior to the follow-up appointment. To make payments convenient for you, we accept cash, personal checks, money orders, and credit cards (Visa, Master Card logo).
If you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage or co-payment, please let us answer your questions before your treatment begins. However, your insurance carrier is the ultimate authority when it comes to coverage. Please contact them with specific questions regarding your policy. No one likes unexpected surprises.

    INSURANCE

Dental insurance is designed to off set some of the cost of your dental treatment. It is very different from medical insurance. We participate with most PPO insurance plans and accept most traditional plans. Please call our office to verify acceptance of your plan.
